rtj's Cyberspace Lodge
Coming Soon to a computer near you!

Brothers:

Being an "Internet Mason" I get double the "bang for your" buck when it comes to Freemasonry -- if not even more. In addition to attending lodge, I have fellowship all day long through the magic of the keyboard and cyberspace with brethren and sisters around the world.

This little page is intended to:

1. provide a little bit of info in answer to the question: "Who the hell is rtj/" That info will be provided even if no one actually cares.

2. to provide a little info and maybe even a celebration of the goodness and richness of the folks I have been fortunate enough to "collect" as friends along the masonic byways of the Internet .... A world map of masons, so to speak.

So, sit down... settle down .... Come for a magic carpet ride .... Meet some good people .... Read a few interesting things which will be provided over time ... And most important .... Just enjoy yourself while visting my little lodge. Ah .... Bring your own lunch as I don't supply meals after the meetings.

New Officers
Installation of officers at Cass Lodge No. 243, Grand Lodge of Minnesota, held 25 June, 2005.

To the left of the newly installed Worshipful Master (moi) .... wearing the somewhat fancy apron is the lodge Senior Warden, Most Worshipful Brother Rodney Larson, Past Grand Master of Minnesota.

Brothers:

.... I was born in 1944, one year ahead of the official time zone for the baby boomer generation. Here is a picture of a typical Canadian town of my childhood era.....during the late 1940's and early 50's.

Dream Town Canada

Maybe this photo might bring back some peaceful memories for some of you....for those who are a wee bit younger it might .... Well, it just might be a little haunting .... Bread was 15 cents a loaf. A quarter got us into the movies, popcorn and then 5 cents change.

No TV until 1952. No Ipods ... WOW... Awesome... YES ... we actuallytalked to one another .... Real live conversations as opposed to walking blindly down a street today wearing a set of earphones and ignoring all comers.

Imagine the Lone Ranger sending email to Tonto ?

Cyberspace lodge entry, date: 1 June, 2006

Brothers, I intend to "travel" to a 4ro on this page ... Bringing to you
the little things which have meant meaning and perhaps "body" to my
life. Sometimes the entries on this page will have words -- at other
times there will just be photos -- pictures which I dearly hope will
make you peaceful and kind of dreamy of "our" good old days. Being a
Canadian, I am extremely fortunate, as I live between Big Brother south
of the "48th" and have the "crown" on the other side as I am a first
generation Canuck of Brit parentage. That means you will see items from
three countries on this page. I hope that some of the items which will
begin to appear below will trigger fond, fond memories for you.

I also add .... It is probably obvious that I am a collector of strange
things ... And if you have "junque" that I might scrounge .... Well,
this older dude would be grateful..

Anyway, try this out for size .... Hopefully someone remembers such
little boxes. This is a "J-5, 14 M.M. 13/16 Hex". The plug is still in
the box and wrapped in the original paper from the manufacturer.

Brothers, this is not a "BLOG". I hate the term. I dislike the concept
as it seems to mean knee jerk, instant comment and analysis without
thought or perspective to history.

In my own fashion -- I want your input and participation on this "silly
old" memories page --- if you don't mind. BUT ... It aint a blog ...
It's just "people" who r-e-m-e-m-b-e-r AND appreciate the times when we
actually stood still and placed a valued on something as small as a
raindrop or a flake of newly fallen snow.
